The Ram is Dodge's competitor in the full size pick up truck marketplace. When this version was introduced in 1992, it introduced a new 8 litre V-10 engine which also went into the high performance Dodge Viper (although with and Aluminium cast engine block rather than the heavier cast iron block in the truck). Most Ram's sold have the cheaper V-8's or a Cummins turbo diesel, but the V-10 is the most powerful performer in the range. At the time it was the only V-10 engined pick up truck on the market, but rivals Ford have since added a similar engine to their full size pick up range.
This is a model of the V-10 Ram with dual rear wheels. It was made by JRL, a company who are now defunct, but Anson are now making this Ram model. It is a heavy model and very large (like the full size truck!) and unlike alot of so called 1:18th scale trucks and jeeps, it is accurate in scale. (Anson make a number of other trucks and large vehicles which are usually smaller than true 1:18th scale). The level of detail applied to the interior and the engine bay is low, but overall it is a good looking model and I'm giving it a rating of 5/10.
