With the demise of the Chevrolet Caprice, Ford are currently (in 2005 anyway!) the only manufacturer of full size, rear wheel drive cars of the type favored by the police departments of America. These monsters (known as "Cruisers") have big lazy V8's, large trunks (or boots) and have plenty of room for the officers up front. Most police departments use the Crown Victoria, and the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) is no different. Thanks to their distinctive paint jobs, they are known as "Black and Whites", and can been seen cruising the streets of LA. Many Canadian police departments use the Crown Vic as well, and abroad, the Moscow police also use this huge car. (I'd certainly love if AUTOart produced a version of this model in Moscow PD colours!).
This car uses a large 4.6 litre V8 engine which drives the rear wheels. The interior has a police radio between the seats, and a screen between the front and rear passenger compartments. In the trunk (boot) there is a spare wheel and a shotgun.
The paint and build quality are good, and all four doors as well as the trunk and hood open. It is one of AUTOarts older releases but it still stands out as a nice model in 2006.
