Ford Falcon GTHO by UT for Biante Enterprises

This car formed the basis of many successful Australian Touring cars in the early 1970s. The Falcon was Ford of Australia's standard large family car at the time, and in order to homologate a powerful race version of the car, the GTHO was produced. The main change was the addition of a large capacity V8 (351 cubic inches) and front and rear spoilers. A fine set of five spoke alloys, extra driving lamps, a "shaker hood" (the top of the engine air cleaner protruded through a hole in the bonnet) and a loud paintjob with twin black stripes on the bonnet completed the transformation.

This model was made by UT (now part of the AUTOart company) for the Australian specialist company Biante. It was one of their last new releases before being swallowed up by Gateway Global (the parent company of AUTOart) in 1999, and consequently is one of their best efforts. All 4 doors open, and the boot opens to show an extra large fuel tank and spare tire. The bonnet lifts to reveal a detailed engine bay, although the bonnet on mine needs a support to stay open (which is a pain when trying to photograph it!). Further versions of this model have been made for Biante by AUTOart as they now own the rights to UTs past catalogue.
