Ford GT40 MkII 3rd place LeMans 1966 by Exoto

Completing Ford's 1-2-3 result at the 1966 24hrs of LeMans was this GT40 driven by the American driver pairing of Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson. Despite neither of them having raced in the rain before (and rain is rarely absent at LeMans!) they managed to finish 3rd 12 laps behind the GT40s of McLaren/Amon and Miles/Hulme. GT40 No5 was the first Holman Moody prepared car to finish, (Holman Moody being a highly successful team in NASCAR racing). The first two GT40s home were Shelby prepared cars.

Originally released as part of a three car set (along with the 1st and 2nd placed 1966 LeMans GT40s) Exoto have since made this 3rd place car available on it's own. An extremely nice model of a fantastic looking race car.
