Porsche 934 TransAm 1976 (Al Holbert) by Exoto

This striking Porsche 934 was driven by Al Holbert in the 1976 Trans-Am series. Holbert had to spilt his time between the Trans-Am and the IMSA Camel GT series that year (he won the IMSA Championship in '76) but was very competitive in the Trans-Am series as well. The turbocharged 934 was the dominant car in Trans-Am that year and a similar car driven by George Follmer won the championship overall.

The 934 was developed for Group 4 sportscar racing by Porsche, and was closely based on the 911 Turbo which in Porsche terms was known as the 930.

Exoto make this superb model of Holberts 934 and it is possibly the nicest looking one made to date by them. I also have a Porsche 934 in Jaegermeister livery as raced in the Nürburgring 1000km race in 1976. It has the usual high level of detail one has come to expect from Exoto including a superb paintjob, a highly detailed interior (including a drivers window net, an extra safety rule for the Trans-Am series), small metal brackets for the front and rear windscreens, removable wheels, a detailed flat six turbocharged engine and a detailed fuel tank under the front bonnet. A great looking model overall.
