This road rocket is the closest thing to a works Impreza rally car that the public can buy. It has a 280bhp turbocharged flat four engine driving all four wheels through an advanced 4WD system, giving excellent grip and traction in all conditions. The 22B is based on the 2 door Impreza shell, which is lighter and stiffer than the 4 door body. It also happens to look sportier, especially with it's extended wheelarches, large bonnet air scoops and extra driving lamps in the front air dam.
The 22B was built in limited numbers only (400 were made officially, just enough to homologate the rally car version) and consequently sold out very quickly indeed, making them possibly the most desirable Turbo Imprezas made.
AUTOart make this fine model which has good quality paint, interior finish and a detailed engine bay. The boot also opens as do both doors. It rates a high 8/10 marks from me.
