Mazda 787B 1991 Le Mans winner by AUTOart

Once again it has been a lot longer than I would have liked since the last update to this site, but having a young family does not leave me a lot of free time to work on my hobby! I've added 20 new pages and updated several existing ones as well, with new pictures and revisions to the text. My collection is currently in storage at the moment until a new extension to our house is finished (which should be in the next few weeks), and once the new addition to our home is finished I will have a dedicated car room/den to display my collection in. So an exciting time for me I have to say!

As ever I hope you enjoy the new content on this site.

Ford FPV GT-P by Classic Carlectables

As usual due to my busy life it's been a while since I last added new pages to this site. Happily I'm glad to announce 4 all new pages for some of my most recent additions (as well as a model I've had for some time but have not featured on the site to date). All the new pages cover models from Classic Carlectables who are an Australian company dedicated to producing models of current and historic Australian road and racing cars. In general I consider their models to be of a high standard and comparable with the best models from other makers such as AUTOart/Biante, Kyosho, GMP and so on.

Ultimately I think I would like to add many more Australian models to my collection but unfortunately the postage costs for 1:18ths from Australia to Ireland can be quite steep. Nonetheless I think they are worth the little extra you might have to pay if you are a collector from outside Australia.

Hope you enjoy the new pages!

BMW 3.0 CSL Turbo "Frank Stella art car" by Minichamps

Well, it's been a long time coming but I'm delighted to announce the addition of 25 new reviews to my website! Additionally over the past year I've been tidying up the appearance of the site with new background graphics and the addition of new photos for many of my older pages.

The past year has been extremely busy with precious little free time thanks to work, moving house and of course having three children under the age of six! In the past month or so I finally managed to get some work done on the site to get this update finished, and I'm very relieved I've managed to do so! I can only hope you enjoy the new content on the site! If you spot any errors in the text of my reviews I would greatly appreciate if you could bring it to my attention.

The purchase of a new light tent for photography earlier this year I feel has greatly improved the quality of my photographs and I'm very pleased with the look of many of my new pages as a result. The Art Car BMW CSLs above and below this text are a good example of the quality of photograph I'm achieving with my current photographic set up and I hope you like them as much as I do!

As ever, I really hope you enjoy the new pages and I hope the next update to this site won't take me as long to complete!

It's been a long time since my last update to this site, but living away from home for a year (for work reasons) and the arrival of two new babies (a boy and a girl!) has meant I've had to put my hobby on the back burner for most of 2005. Recently though I have found some time to add some pages and I do hope you enjoy them!

I've also tried to review and update older pages as necessary. In particular I've reviewed some of the ratings I gave in the past and revised them (mostly downwards) to reflect the advances in the "state of the art" for diecasts. For example, models which in 2000 I would have rated as 8 out of 10 when compared to todays standards fare a little worse and are now 6 or 7's out of 10s. Nonetheless, my older models are still an important part of my collection and will continue to be so for a long time yet!

AAR/Eagle-Weslake 1967 Belgian GP winner by Carousel 1

I've added lots of new pages to the site as you can see from the list below, all of which have photographs taken with my excellent Canon Eos 300D Digital camera, which I have to say gets great results! Watch out for pages marked with as they have new photography and updates and corrections to the text, as well as my new rating scale applied to the model.

As of today, the collection stands at 616 models, all 1:18th, and I'm expecting the arrival of a package in the next week or so with some new AUTOarts, which will make further great additions to the collection!

As ever, I hope you enjoy the new pages and the rest of the site, and do check back as often as you can.

Well, it's January 2004 and the collection total at the end of 2003 was 583 models, all 1:18th.

I bought a superb new camera at the end of October 2003, a Canon Eos 300D digital SLR with 6.3 megapixels. Consequently I've been busy redoing many photographs on the site, so do look out for those pages with beside their link as they may have new higher definition photos to go with the text.

Ferrari 312T4 Jody Scheckter by Exoto

Phew! Finally after many months on and off I've finished the latest round of updates for this site. The main change in addition to several new pages are the updated photographs on the older pages. I've also revised some of my original ratings to take into consideration the improved standard of 1:18th scale models over the past 3-4 years since I first started this site. Currently I have 510 1:18th models in my collection.

I've added a few more pages this month on the following models in my collection. As ever I hope you enjoy them!
